Which electric scooter battery to choose?
The electric scooter has become a very popular means of travel in just a few years, allowing you to get around quickly and without physical effort. The battery is an essential part of your electric scooter as it powers the scooter and allows you to move forward by delivering the necessary power.
We estimate that the life of an electric scooter battery is 2 to 3 years depending on the conditions of use of your scooter. Naturally, as you charge your scooter battery, its energy storage capacity decreases: this results in a drop in performance of your electric scooter battery and a loss of range. Don't change your electric scooter: renew your battery instead and enjoy your two-wheeler for longer.
To choose the battery for your electric scooter, first make sure you identify its technology:

Lithium-ion batteries: newer, lighter and more efficient, they offer more autonomy and require very little maintenance. This is the technology now found in most batteries.

Nickel batteries.

Lead-acid batteries: very heavy, this technology is hardly ever used today.
Next, identify the voltage of your current battery : note that the voltage cannot be changed! It is impossible to choose a 24V scooter battery to replace a 36V electric scooter battery for example.
Finally, choose the amperage of your future electric scooter battery: the higher the amperage, the greater the autonomy you will enjoy on your cycle.
When should you change your electric scooter battery?
When you notice that your electric scooter no longer has a range of 25km but 10km, this is a sign that your battery has lost power and needs to be replaced.
In the second case, your scooter no longer starts: this means that the battery is no longer working and is not powering the motor. At this point, you need to change the battery to get your favourite means of transport working again.

Antoine advises you to charge your electric battery cold. We recommend that you leave 1 hour between using your bike and recharging it. Why is this? No battery likes sudden temperature changes! That is why we also recommend that you charge your electric scooter battery indoors at an ambient temperature between 15 and 25°C.
