Electrical failures
For electrical failures, the situation is often straightforward: if your bike no longer powers on despite a healthy battery and intact wiring, repair is unfortunately not possible. In this case, the motor is irreparably damaged and must be replaced with a new one.

Mechanical failures
Mechanical failures, on the other hand, are generally repairable. If you notice unusual noises, a lack of assistance, loss of power or blocked pedals, the issue likely comes from the planetary gears inside the motor. These gears are essential for power transmission. If they are in good condition, the motor can be opened, diagnosed and repaired. Opening the motor is necessary to inspect these internal components. If they are damaged, replacing them can often restore the motor without requiring a full replacement.
An assistance issue may be caused by:
the belt (in belt-equipped motors)
the torque sensor. If walk mode works but the motor does not provide assistance during use, the torque sensor is likely defective.
the controller. In this case, repair is not possible.
Assistance problems may also be repaired after diagnosis. Feasibility can only be confirmed once the motor has been opened.
