  • A lithium-ion battery rated at 36 V has a nominal voltage of 36 V. When fully charged, its voltage reaches approximately 42 V.

  • The charger must therefore be capable of delivering a voltage of up to 42 V to allow the battery to be fully charged.
  • The “36 V / 42 V maximum” label does not mean that this is a 42 V charger incompatible with a 36 V battery: it is indeed a charger designed to recharge a 36 V lithium-ion battery.
