B&W battery cases are the ideal solution for the safe storage, transport, and recharging of defective lithium batteries. These cases are sturdy and easy to use thanks to their protective metal interior.
- - Unique safety system that automatically locks in the event of a fire inside—registered with the German Patent and Trademark Office.
- - High-quality case with an internal metal compartment
- - The activated carbon filter reduces gas emissions and soot formation in the event of a battery fire.
- - Tested and approved as packaging for hazardous materials and therefore suitable for transporting defective lithium batteries on public roads.
- - Tested under real-world conditions: No flames escaped when the battery burned during testing, and the outer surfaces of the B&W 908 case remained consistently below 100°C.

Description
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HANDLING DEFECTIVE LITHIUM BATTERIES
B&W cases are officially approved for the transport and storage of defective lithium batteries in accordance with transport regulations P903 and P908.
- - Suitable for the following applications; please follow the corresponding instructions:
| Battery declared defective for safety reasons | Deformed or swollen battery |
| Degassed cell or battery | Burnt cell or battery |
| Melted plastic parts or connections on the battery | Detectable strange gas odor |
| The BMS (if present) identifies defective cells | Damaged case |
- - Application instructions: Use fire-resistant bags; place each defective battery in a bag; if necessary, add foam to pad and secure; protect the batteries from short circuits; if necessary, follow other specifications and detailed instructions for use.
- - Defective batteries are not permitted to be transported via international sea freight or international air freight!
- - Batteries declared intact may be transported via international sea or air freight, subject to other requirements. Please note that batteries exceeding 100 Wh cannot be transported on passenger aircraft, but only on cargo aircraft, and that the charge level must not exceed 30% at any time.
