When should I have my battery tested?

There are several reasons to have your battery tested by a professional:

  • If you decide to resell your electric scooter: a faulty battery is not visible to the naked eye, so having your battery tested will certify that it's in good working order, and you'll be able to sell your ebike for more.

  • If you haven't used your scooter for a long time: it's essential to make sure your battery is in good condition before getting back on the road, otherwise you risk damaging it further.

  • If you notice a lack of autonomy or abnormal performance: a failure is sometimes due to a simple fuse, and it's possible to change just this component!

How long does a diagnosis take?

Your battery will be out of action for around 10 days, including transport to and from our workshops. This time may vary more or less depending on the diagnostic orders to be processed.

Report details :

This report includes battery charge and discharge curves, data table and remaining battery life.

Lead time: Due to high demand, lead time is estimated at around 2 months.

Recommendations: change battery fuse, solder cables, recondition battery or buy new.

What are the steps involved in diagnosing an electric scooter battery?

If you want to diagnose your electric scooter battery, the first step is to add the diagnosis to the shopping basket by clicking on the I buy button, and then place the order.

Once you've placed your order, you'll receive an e-mail with a colissimo label and the information sheet sent to you by Doctibike.

The third step is to carefully pack the battery, charger and keys in a sturdy cardboard box and go to a post office to drop off your parcel.

And after the diagnosis ? What happens next?

Once the diagnosis has been carried out, Doctibike will send you the details of the diagnostic report and advise you on the next steps to take:

  • Scooter battery repair: Doctibike technicians can replace a faulty spare part with a new one and repair your battery.
  • Reconditioning: Doctibike replaces the entire cell pack inside your battery with a new cell pack. After reconditioning, your battery's power is restored to its original level

  • If neither of the above solutions is possible, Doctibike will advise you to buy a new battery. We have a large catalog of batteries on our site. You're bound to find the battery you're looking for.

- Is the battery charging and discharging correctly?
